Power-assisted liposuction (PAL)

A technique that utilizes a smaller liposuction instrument (cannula) to improve contour after delivering fat-dissolving vibrations, PAL may be more appropriate for patients who require the removal of softer fat. This may include a number of body areas, such as the:

• Abdomen
• Thighs
• Buttocks
• Calves

However, one procedure in which Dr. Zahir relies heavily on the PAL method is male breast reduction (also known as gynecomastia surgery). For men who wish to eliminate unsightly, enlarged breasts, resulting in a more masculine chest contour, power-assisted liposuction is normally the best way to reach this goal.

SmartLipo™

One of the most popular modern fat removal systems available, the SmartLipo device is known for the convenience it offers both doctor and patient. An office-based procedure, SmartLipo is an ideal means of eliminating small volumes of fat; specifically, in areas that include the chin line, upper arms, lateral breast area/bustline, and other features that require either a more refined improvement or proportional balance.

Combining Liposuction

Many patients inquire about combining liposuction methods. When Dr. Zahir deems appropriate, this is sometimes recommended. Additionally, a non-invasive skin tightening treatment, such as Thermage®, is utilized to smooth out cellulite and mild asymmetry. Finally, if desired or necessary, it is often possible to perform liposuction in conjunction with a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) procedure.
